Auto Effects are often asked to design, prepare and paint projects not linked to cars and due to David’s expertise, we are always willing to quote.
A specialist design company approached us to paint queuing rails that they had crafted out of mild steel for Barclays Bank, and produced a stunning effect in their banking halls across the country. We prepared and profiled the rails ready for primer and then painted them into the two colours of Barclays red and gold. We were very proud to be involved in this project along with ACSS and the rail designers, particularly as the concept has won various prestigious design awards.
Another recent project has been to convert redundant airline components into furniture. The client, Falko, market leaders in aircraft leasing asked us if we could convert an engine air intake from a BAE 146 into a coffee table. Falko stripped the air intake of any components not required, and we then cut and modified the intake so that it would sit square and level. We manufactured a new skirt and base, polished the rim and repainted the inner and outer panels. Within the base, a light was also fitted. The fan asm was then cut down to fit the inside of the intake, which was then powder coated and fitted. A glass top was manufactured and affixed to the rim
This impressive piece of furniture has proved a massive talking point at Falko.
We have also made a coat rail from two airline door handles for the same company.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements, however, off the wall, as our expertise in developing and managing projects which cannot be bought off the shelf is second to none.
